This collection, consisting of seven manuscript booklets, contains Thayer's sermons over a ten year period, from 1779-1790. Thayer delivered his sermons in his parish in Hampton, New Hampshire, as well as town throughout Massachusetts (Salisbury, Waltham, Charlestown and Boston) and New Hampshire (Hampton Falls, Dover, Rye and Exeter). Thayer often preached his sermons several times and at different locations, and annotated at the end of each sermon when and where it was delivered. Notes on one sermon indicate it was delivered seventeen times. Some of his sermons interestingly touch on concerns of the day, mainly the Revolution.
